For those who didn't know yet, the Tin Top public ramp is open. It looks pretty useable, however, exercise caution. Whenever the ramp ends it drops off 3 feet straight down. I haven't launched myself, And there is plenty of debris floating as well.

On another topic, can anyone comment or discuss boating this section of the Brazos? Or more importantly, whether or not you can expect to have a good day chasing cats, or other species, in it. I've been within 15 minutes of the ramp for 2.5 years now, and now is the first time I can safely access it. Pretty excited to find out what opportunities I have now...for however long it may last.

I haven't been there in a few years, but I would catch small cats under the bridge on punch bait. Never did great, but I was always on the bank, not from a boat. Good luck to you!

Thanks,
Olen

Not sure where to tell you to go from the ramp, but fish now before the water warms up and the wake-boarders start coming out. And, don't try to get your boat on or off the trailer when one of them is approaching the area throwing big rollers...I learned the hard way. That was 5 years ago and I haven't been back.

I drove up the river from highway 51 to tin top, after Hunter Park the side scan and down scan were nearly barren. I decided to not waste my time fishing up there, but that was before the lake came up.
