Going to have to store my boat outside at a covered storage unit for a few months until my shop is complete. All of the individual units have been full for a while, so I've gotta store it outside along with some other RVs, boats etc under cover. I have a standard lock on the hitch right now, only bc one you would use at a storage unit won't fit. The hole is to small. Hope that makes sense.
Anyways, I have taken everything out of the boat I can and locked up the compartments along with a cover, I just wanna know the best way to lock up my boat. Would a cable around the wheels be to easy to cut? The current lock I have has a big enough gap u can cut it if need be, it's just nothing else fits.
Thanks.

That's what I would do. Get a cable lock and run it through the wheels, both sides. Like my best friend once told me "a lock only keeps an honest man out". You can only do so much, BUT if a criminal sees a lot of work, they will more than likely look for something easier. I would cable both wheels and lock the tongue like you said. Also, make sure and cover it. Also, move it slightly every few days so it looks like you come by often. That's about all you can do and will probably be more than most.

Does the trailer have a swing away tounge and if so can the front half be unbolted easily?
If it does just take it off.

If the compartments are empty, leave them unlocked. No sense in having someone damage the lids to find out there's nothing there.

if you have nice wheels and tires get some lug locks. Look at a " Trailer Keeper" lock

Put a Lock-R-Bar over the battery and gas compartments if possible, if not remove the batteries. You should also do a Lock-R-Bar over the rod and tackle compartments or leave them empty and unlocked. Lock the ball as shown and stated above and cable or chain and lock the tires/wheels together and to the frame. If possible put a chain and lock from the trailer to a fence, post, or tree.

Could also remove wheel(s) from one side, or all of them. Don't think too many thieves run around with spare wheels. x2 on removing batteries & leaving compartments empty & unlocked.
FWIW, about padlocks, cable locks, etc: I've got a cordless grinder/cutter that with a metal cutting wheel will cut thru a 1/2" diameter hardened steel pin in only a few seconds.

I'd try to find a enclosed storage unit. Even if it was 30-40 min further... If that's not an option, take advise above. Definitely don't lock the compartments.
