Lots of emergent hay grass on east side around south toledo bend state park, 2-5' depth. Grass also on west side just outside buck creek, also around texas island. Lots of submerged grass visible on depth finder in many areas. Hope this helps, many bass being caught on frog.

South end is full of hydrilla and milfoil. Typical Toledo, shes in amazing shape. 79 certified and released over 10lbs in the Toledo Lunker Program so far. I think last year had around 61.

Makes me wonder what lake in the country puts out the most 10 lbers right now....off the top of my head some contenders would be Toledo, Clear Lake and the California Delta

The 79 out of Toledo are just the official ones. Not reported are ones caught and released, taken home, or that die.

I know my dad has caught 4 over 10lbs in the last year but he just snaps a photo and lets them go. He is waiting for one over 12 to get a replica made

The South end clears up very quickly after rain. The North is where it gets muddy. I know it was some tough fishing yesterday according to the BassNBucks tournament anglers. 1 nice sack and about of 10-12lb sacks. Thats not usual for TB this time of the year. The grass bite should get very good very shortly

Toledo Bend has been a consistent producer of LARGE black bass since the 70's! That pretty much says it all........
If your going to east Texas, you HAVE to go to TB. Stop by Fin n' Feather for launch, breakfast/lunch/dinner or a 'brewsky'! roflmao
To answer the question, I believe the water on the southern end is 'stained' but producing tons of fish.
Deep water and top water bite is ON!!!

If you weren't on the fish, just listen and talk to the other fishermen there, you will be.
God Bless
