Headed to Cedar Creek in the morning for some Hybrid action. Which ramp is closest to the damn, and location from Malakoff. Is the bite on live bait and are the shad holding near any boat ramps at day break. Tomorrow will be a learning day on the lake and trying to mark some good humps. I'm just looking for point in the right direction. Thanks for any help.

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Closest ramp is Fisherman's Wharf, a better choice would be the ramp just across the bridge on 198.

It ain't easy making it look easy.

I BELIEVE STAR HARBOR RAMP IS OPEN AND USABLE. It is close to dam area and near some good humps. Ramp at caney bridge is good but usually crowded . specially with bass tourney guys

Go to Star Harbor ramp. It was just re-done this winter. 5.00 to launch with an honor box. It is a good ramp and a lot less crowded than public ramp in Caney. You can see the dam from the ramp.

MIL lives in Star Harbor the ramp is very good and has a courtesy dock the downside is it faces due south so that can be an issue with a big south wind.

Thanks guys. Really appreciate it. Wife wants to go so may go to RC now. She doesn't like trips to new lakes when I do more scouting and marking than fishing.
