To get an accurate recommendation you need to post your size and what fish you want to target.

I'd say a Pescador is at least worth a look for you. I love mine.

The Pescador was my first yak as well. They are well designed for calmer water. Not as much storage as some yaks, but that is what your milk crate is for I suppose. It tended to go through the waves in the surf, not over, so I got another yak for that. The best thing about the Pescador is the price. It seems to be a real good yak for the money. As long as you are not figuring on taking it down to the coast a lot it should work quite well.

Don't forget to budget for a comfortable PFD, paddle, and whistle. Take it out a few times before you decide what else to spend your money on.

X2 on this. Get a comfy PFD and nice paddle. Otherwise you'll spend more in the long run replacing crappy one due to trying to go cheap for now.

I have an FS12T and love it, it's big and bulky, but works wonderful for a bigger guy like me. I can get that thing movin!

But I would look into the D10 and D10Ts(below)

They are slightly smaller, faster, and lighter and will hold a guy your size easily, plus they are $450 new.
