Ill keep it simple. I have a Mercury 9.9 hp on my jon boat. The boat has run perfectly, zero issues. I knew the gas I had was getting old, figured I would throw it in the lawn mower, and get new gas for the boat. Emptied the tank (3.5 gallon) and put fresh from the pump gas, plus some seafoam. I thought I put in the right amount of seafoam, could have been more. Went to run the motor today, and it ran like [censored]. Nothing felt / sounded right.

Got it off the water, got home, pulled the plugs and they were fouled big time. Pulled them, went to autozone and got new ones. Kid at the counter told me too much seafood could cause plugs to foul. Bought my new plugs, new fuel filter, went home and installed them, and nothing. The motor will not turn over. Usually I can choke it, prime it three pumps and it fires up.

Fresh gas, with no seafoam, new plugs, new filter, everything is connected right, and I have zero spark.

What can I do to fix this? Do I need to let everything sit over night and let the fuel in the carb dry up?

Also, just did a fresh oil change, and put in the 800 ML that the engine calls for. So as of right now, I am under the impression I have the proper amount of oil. And the kill switch is definitely in the "run" position.

It doesn't seem like it. I just went out and tried starting it again, and its like it wants to turn over, but there is zero spark happening in the cylinder. The gas is getting to the carb for sure, I primed the bulb, then hit the little push button deal, and you can hear the gas squirt into the carb.

As of right now, Im still at a loss. I just read the owners manual, and it wasn't any help. The causes for motor won't start, were basically everything I have already looked at.

Ok, defiantly no spark. Pulled the plugs, they smell heavily of gas, (so good deal there, I know the carb isn't screwed up) and they aren't sparking at all.

Ideas? Im making an uneducated guess of killswitch.
