Alright y'all,
Think I decided just to make a day trip from San Angelo out to Ivie on either Tuesday or Wedneaday of next week. In my 3 years of graduate school at angelo staye, I have never once fished Ivie. Anyone fished there in the last couple weeks?. I think it may be up some in comparison to last year at this time. Anyone lead me to a couple of areas and weigh in on types/colors of bair. Fishing with a buddy of mine out of seperate single kayaks, he's a beginner that wants to learn more. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

I was there this weekend and it sucked for me. we had a club tournament and the total weight was under 8 lbs. Another club from Midland was there and I saw several good fish but most were with a couple of dinks. I also saw a guy catch a five pounder close to the boat ramp from the bank. Thats always nice to see after a tough day on the lake.lol I used topwater, spinnerbait, crankbait, tx rigged craw, carolina rig, wacky rig. senko, fluke and some finesse baits. I caught two fish all day, one on carolina rig and one on white crank bait and both were 13 inches. caught both in about 8 foot of water. I fished from about two feet out to twenty foot. It was windy, I guess I could have missed some fish if they were more shallow but I fished rocky points first then trees, then flats with brush then some drop offs. Scott

I'll talk to my nephew. He played football at Angelo State & just graduated this last December. He has a kayak that he fishes from all the time. He's meeting my wife and me this weekend at Lake Bastrop this weekend. We're gonna see if we can catch a few fish. You may also want to look up Josh Seale on this forum and send him a message. He was on the Angelo State Bass Team. I think he knows Ivie very well. He seems to always be on big fish & he may be able to give you some advice. Have a Blessed Day, Mike

Black Spinner Baits. Gold. Colardo Blade. White/chart/ brwn. Pumkinseed. Silver willow leaf. 2' off the bank. Let it sink. Buzz it back. 3 turns on the crank. Let it "ease" back. Jig that Spinner-bait; back up. REPEAT! Hold on to you'r Stick.
