My son and I have entered the Skeeter Owners Bass Tour, which he is very pumped about. I noticed it looks like things start up on Thursday, can anyone tell me what all takes place before the actual fishing on Sat/Sun.
Thanks

Prefishing. On Friday about 2pm you can go register and pick up your bag of goodies and rod ( if you paid the extra $ ). There will be Skeeter Pro Staff arriving and hanging around. The tent will have a few vendors: Rigid lights, the Skeeter merchandise booth, a couple of lure companies, santone , army bass anglers, Biobor, the TPW replica's, Minn Kota, Yamaha, etc.. Then there wil be demo rides In a new boat. Long lines but it's very cool just walking around. The lake will be crowded but 99% are really nice people.

One thing to note... Whatever "secret spot" you think you found will NOT be so secret on Saturday.

Fun times!

Fun Tournament!!! Me and my son will be fishing it also. Last year the solenoid in the trailer hitch for the surge brakes was bad and when backing up a hill the brakes on trailer would lock up which absolutely sucked! We told the Skeeter guys about it and they said pull it back here and let us check it out. We did and they ended up taking the whole hitch out and installing a brand new one free of charge. I was shocked! Woulda been about a $3-400 repair. Then we had a power pole issue and the power pole dude fixed us up. Again..no charge. It was great. I hope something breaks the week before. No...I didn't say that. I'm good with everything working perfectly!! Haha

I think actually you can register and do the boat rides on Thursday as well. If I remember right. Thursday usually isn't as crowded as Friday. Friday thru Sunday the boat lanes resemble the North Dallas Tollway, if you are merging into traffic, they expect you to be up to 70 when you get in line..... Even with little wind the boat chop will look like the wind is blowing 20 mph, especially between the power lines and Lake Fork Marina.

All that said, been fishing it since 2005 and it is a lot of fun, and everyone I have ever encountered have been great folks.

Looking forward to it as well.

First timer here.

How does this tourney work exactly? Head out early and hole sit until first cast at a certain time?

Couple years ago a man caught a 10lb. bass that would have won a new boat but failed the polygraph; he had left the boat ramp at 4:00 and did not know the rules, DQ him.

don't go to Glade, Birch, Little Caney, Searcy Branch, Chaney Branch, Mustang, Little Mustang, No Name, Alligator Cove, Taylor or Wolf Creek......those places will have too many boats on them. If it were me I would throw cranks at the dam or work Long Branch with weightless flukes & frogs.
