I had a guide trip this morning--two guys out of Dallas. We caught 47 catfish, most of them really nice. They were all caught on my cheesebait in 25 feet of water with no weight.

A buddy, Mark, stopped by after the trip. We went out and checked out a couple of baited holes. We caught these nice ones.

When fishing your bait do the catfish swallow the hook everytime? I am trying to learn this whole catfishing thing and would like to take my wife out from some catch and release but I don't want to kill the fish with a treble hook.

I bought 2 of the large tubs from Stbby and the bait is wonderful, the smell easily comes off your hands and the baits stays on the hook really well. Other baits if you miss the hook set your bait will come off the hook, Stubby's stays on a lot better.

Best of all it catches fish.

Yall using slip bobbers, tight lining, or just over the side of the boat? Never tried that with no weight.
