Went to the lake yesterday to check it out. I live in McKinney so it is really close but haven't been on the lake in years. Looks like the ramp I would use at Clear Lake is good. LOTS of flooded brush and willow trees as you can imagine. Water really wasn't too off color. Pitched a speed craw around for about an hour from the bank and it looked like there should be a bass on every bush. Won't know the temp until I take the boat but did see a couple of gar up very shallow. Saw 4 - 5 bass boats running around and wondered if any one has been out and figured anything out there yet. I'm thinking spinnerbait/chatterbait and cover as much water is possible until I get bit then maybe slow it down? Thanks!

Going to try it tomorrow. Haven't spent much time there in a few years, but I am guessing the fish will be very spread out. Plus, with them drawing water, and if you are a Lavon regular, you know what that does. frown

I have been out there a few times last month, but the fishing was awful. I was primarily crappie fishing, but it was bad. I brought bass and crappie stuff and couldn't catch anything except a catfish. I am guessing that all this new water has them or me confused.

Lavon has been tough ever since the water came up. The lake is actually 1.25ft high right now. To put it in perspective Lavon was 12ft low only a couple months ago. As you can imagine the fish are all completely scattered. I haven't been out since this past weekend, and the water has come up over 3 feet since then. The bite might pick up after all the warm weather and direct sunlight this week just making the fish a bit more frisky. The water temps have been in the mid 60's for the last several weeks. Topwater bites few and far between, but the jig seems to be most consistent to me.

The bite picked up a few weeks ago when the water level stayed more steady around the -3ft range. Personally, I don't think the bite will really get good again until some of the flooded brush underwater dies off a bit, and the water level starts to become more consistent
