 Power Pole question

This may be a dumb question but I have to ask..
I see some power poles in the up position that are angled out, some straight up and down, and some angled in toward the motor. Is this a preference thing or does it just depend on how they installed?

The ones that are angled out are mounted on the jackplate or between the motor and the transome with a Power Pole bracket. The ones that come straight out the back are mounted to the transom by drilling holes throgh the transom. I have never seen any that are mounted angled in

Its a preference. We normally install them with the tops kicked in a little. Gives a wider foot print when deployed.

Mine are straight and they are mounted to the jack plate....there is a little adjustment where the pole mounts to the bracket.

I just finished installing mine on 2000 Tr 19 with the braced bracket and on mine the brackets have slots instead of straight hole to lean in or out if you wanted.. I think the guys that have leaned out just haven't adjusted them I guess idk. But I watched Chris Lanes video about his setup and he bolts them a few degrees inward for a wider stance so it's more stable. I just put mine one straight vertical right now to see how they react.
