I have a ranger fish and ski with a 3 blade 21p prop on it, the boat does fine until I put an extra couple in the boat then it will take forever to get on plane. I would like to get a new prop just for this scenario, but I have no Idea what pitch to get for a four blade.

don't know about what size and pitch you need, but i had and old aluminum prop we called the elephant ear, that we use for pulling skiers and tubes. much less expensive than ss if you can find one.

5 blade has been my go to prop for waking, skiing and heavy loads. High Five 19 pitch.

Boat and motor model would be helpful. I do not use mine for pleasure any more but also have a Ranger fish and ski. I have a 19 or 21" aluminum prop that I use to put on my Laser when tubing and skiing and it worked great. My Ranger has the max HP and with polished heads I never had to worry about changing props when we went skiing. The aluminum prop just sits in the attic.

We used to have a 1985 Skeeter fish and ski with a Johnson GT150. We had a stainless 21 pitch for fishing but when summer time rolled around we put a 17 pitch on it for skiing, knee boarding, and tubing. It would yank you out of the water which was great. Just watch your RPM's

If I remember right, we could get 68mph with the 21 pitch but with the 17 pitch we could only get about 45mph because of the RPMs. But it would jump out of the hole and get on pad in no time.

I have a 375V with a 175 Merc. I was going to buy the bigger boat but one reason I backed off was it was rated for a 225 and Mercury did not make one at the time. SS or aluminum depends on what you want to spend. I went with aluminum for my ski prop because of price and using it in clean water. I have heard that alum blades will flex some and pitch will change pitch a little. Not sure about this. I would think that you would be good with a 19.

I am probably going to go with the aluminum the first round and see how I like it then go to SS if need be, heck I might get a 4 blade for normal runnning
