Going next week, herd some rumors of poor fishing. Also giant salvania? First time to go to the lake and would love a report if anyone has one. Trying to show my wife a good time for mothers day and don't want to drive 4 hrs for a boat ride...

Fishing has improved on several fresh water lakes in Texas with the recent rains consider something closer might be a viable option

Poor fishing? Must talked to wrong people. Buddy and his friends fish 3 days this week with 40 plus a day. Shad spawn going on

I spent 4 days there a few weeks ago, and I would say it the best lake in the state right now.

alot can change in a few weeks but to be realistic it is fishing and if you fish much you know what I mean. However I been hearing you can catch 30# bags on Rayburn, Toledo, Fork, Falcon just to name a few lakes.

Find the shad and u will catch. I was able to get on the lake Thursday morning and caught 40 before 9 am. Combination of LMB, Kentucky's, and white bass. Nothing bigger than 3 pounds but lots of fun.

Can anyone who has had good luck help him with best depth, which end of lake, and a couple lure choices? He's not asking for fishing holes, just some help would be nice considering he's driving 4 hours with his wife.

Watermelon Candy in both submerged grass and grass on top pretty shallow. 3-8ft. Also crappie on black grub jigs with a chartreuse tail with either 1/32 or 1/16oz jig head around any grass in 10-12ft
