Due to economic constraints, low turn outs, and lack of participation, we are forced to cancel the Weds morning tournaments.

Woody said it was Ok to post this here. We are offering mid week tournaments on every other Thursday daytime as follows:

It is a draw. We draw the month before and make adjustments if there are any changes. Dues for the year is $5. Tournaments are $12 paid out 5 ways. On the first $10 to 1st, 2nd & 3rd 70%, 20%, & 10%, $1 per angler for lunker and $1 for the club.

And it is a paper tournament. No messing with weigh ins in hot or cold weather. And we count the slot fish. Catch a bass, have the co-angler watch while you measure it, record on laminated sheet. May have 20 fish over 10" or more recorded and then count the best 5.

Weigh ins are with a calculator. We ask for 25% participation. So it you are into taking trips we can live with that. We meet at Oak Ridge Marina in the morning, pay up, launch from any ramp, quit fishing 8 hours later and have 30 minutes to get back to the restaurant for scoring and payouts. And a meeting afterwards on the 2nd Thursday we fish during the month.

The group is pretty friendly with not to much back seating. For the most part the anglers help each other and go as far as lending baits etc. Many of our members fish the "big" money tournaments and use the info from these events to help them because once we get to our "weigh in" the winners do tell the story. What, how, where, etc and the co-angler is there to agree. Most want to tell their story too. So it is certainly a learning experience for all.
And Oak Ridge has a real good tackle shop.

There is an angler of the year race but the points are very close. 1st 36, 2nd 35 etc. Nothing for lunker or meetings. Throw out 4. We fished 23 times in 2014.

We only fish at Lake Fork. We have no reason to go elsewhere.

On Saturday May 30th we are hosting a "Meet & Greet" at Oak Ridge at 4 PM at the outside pavilion. We will be having food and inviting prospective members to meet us and talk about what we do.
