where would you guys launch from if you could only use your trolling motor for the day? Also, I can carry the boat so it doesn't necessarily need to be a ramp...just somewhere public with lake access and good fishing nearby. Thanks

You have 4 options:

1. Jordan park and fish Sand island
2. Buck Crk and fish in either direction ( east or west )
3. Isle d bois park and fish in State Park cove or just to the north

Or...

Put in at johnson park and fish all in that cove.....

I would go with what Dawson said above and either do Johnson or Isle D Bois. Either of those spots will get you fishing quicker and protect you from the wind better as well.

Good luck and let us know how you do.

Like John175 Buck Creek. You could spend all day in there and stay out of the wind.

I fished that way for years.

Buck Creek - Always protected from wind and lots of great fishing from rip rap, flipping timber, grass beds, it has it all.
Pond creek - good if the wind is from the South
Sanger Access - good if wind is from the North and you also have the Marina which is interesting.
Indian - as stated above but too many people and too much pressure for my taste

If you want to get creative, look at a map and there are several roads that dead end into the lake off of FM 922 which for the most part all have good areas to fish. One of them is very close to Walling Hump

There is also the road there close to the Walmart distribution warehouse that dead ends into the lake that is a great cove to fish.

Plenty of places to take a small boat and even more if you take two batteries!

Be safe and I hope this helps.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Bridge in Indian or if you can carry it that far, walk it down the road bed to Sand
