I have a 94 Skeeter SS90, 16.2ft, 88HP Evinrude. I'm running about 42mph with just me in the boat with a full tank of fuel. I was wondering if a jack plate would help gain any speed. If I could hit 45 or so, I'd be a happy camper. Any suggestions? Getting a stainless prop would be last resort. Unless that plus a jack would get me there. I was looking at some of the stationary jacks from Bobs Machine. Any thoughts?

Best bet is likely a stainless prop on that rig. Might check with Steve on here to get his thoughts.

What would I gain with a stainless prop vs the prop I'm running now?

What is your current maximum RPM. What size and pitch prop you running. How much does your boat weigh.
All these will need to be known.

No markings on prop, and max rpm is 5200. No idea about boat weight.

You may be able to raise the motor for a little more rpm, ideally you need 5500 Rpm. Your boat weighs 800-lbs. (42 mph is not bad). Would only gain maybe 1 or 2 mph. Just my opinion, not an expert. I would leave it alone though your not that far off from max Rpm as it is.

Where ya located? I think I have a 4" laying round you can try but my hoist is in use for the next couple weeks. Not a skeeter guy but in my opinion the best way to figure out set up is to throw stuff at and see what sticks. How hard is it to get to the bottom bolts?

Bet your prop is marked on the hub just gotta pop the nut off.
