Heading over to shreveport this weekend to visit a friend but figured i'd take the poles with me. Any good spots to bank fish or possibly a guide near there to do a guided day/half day? Thanks

There's a lot of canals in and around SP/Bossier that are accessible from the bank. If you get on Google earth they are easy to find. Cross Lake is good if you know someone with a boat. There are a few places to fish from the bank but you will need a LA fishing license. They sell one to three day licenses at the marina it you choose to fish there. Black Bayou and Cypress are also options. Good luck.

Caddo lake. Paul Keith is a guide there that I've heard good reports about. Red River is fun to fish but I believe it is too high

Fish off the bank at Red River south marina. I watched a kid catch 2 fish over 3 pounds while I was going to weigh my 3 little fish hahaha He was throwing a baby brush hog.

Trust me don't do this. Speaking from experience.
But there are some giant bass in those ponds.

All public launches are closed on the red river because of high water/current. If you want a good trip Paul Keith or Vince Richards on caddo are your best bet but kind of late notice may already be booked. There is not much bank fishing available that is any good better to find a boat. Good luck.

Sounds like an intriguing story there....
