I wanted a change of pace from Ray Roberts this week & had my sights on Lavon or Grapevine. Well...thanks, Robert (Fishin' World on Lovers) for planting the Monticello bug in my ear. I hadn't been to Monticello since I gave my dad's ashes to her over twelve years ago so it was a bittersweet return. She didn't let me down today. Saw a lot of monsters on beds, but they didn't want to cooperate... Only managed one 4lber doing that with a senko. A 3lber fell victim to a jerkbait on the rocks & then I decided to brave the windy side. The spinnerbait bite was ON FIRE! They were killing it. Caught six Monticello chunks up to 5lbs & lost a couple nice ones at the boat. I sure needed that!!! My Ray Roberts trips were beginning to make me question my bassin' skills
