I began using the Trilene knot for braid about three years ago and I cannot remember ever having it break or the knot slip and come undone. As a single layered knot it really looks like it would not be that strong, but its really solid and easy to tie. Best of all, if you practice a little, you can tie it so that your tag end is the right length and you wont have to trim it so it saves you some money in fishing line.

+1 on the Trilene Knot - never had any issues with this knot on all different sizes of braid

Check out this video clip with Bobby Barrack - shows his knot and explains why - just like Tim just shared.

I tie the uni knot on just about everything these days. It's fast and easy and I've never had it slip on braid, plus you don't have to cut a long tag off when you tie on a big bait.

I use a Palomar with a single regular knot right over top with the tag end. Then pull on the main line till I feel the "pop". Then cut the tag off about a 1/16" close. Never, ever had it fail. I've broken rods, straightened hooks, you name it. Only way to get the jig/frog off is to get the fiskars out and cut it off.

Check out the fishin fool knot. It is a uni with the line through the eyelet of the bait twice instead of once.

I actually tie that on big hard bodied swimbaits with mono. It's a good one as well.

Trilene x100 I have used palmar, its brittle in my opinion.

tried uni, I use double uni on flouro and love it but on braid trilene is best. I haven't broken a fish off at the knot since I switched. I have converted a buddy who was DIEHARD on Palomar. Test all you want, when we go out and I don't break off at all for the whole trip. and I do that several times in a row with you... i'll convert you

I do also tie an overhand knot in tag in and leave 3/8-1/2 an inch tag. Just feels safer.

the only time I don't use it is to snell a knot for punching or flipping reeds

This is what I do. I've never had a problem with it slipping or failing.
