In all of law enforcement, being a Game Warden must be one of the most dangerous jobs.

I was "carded" twice on Squaw Creek over the winter months bank fishing by Joni and I noticed that she was a little stand-offish until after I produced my license. You know, not overly talkative and watching carefully while I dig around for my license. In the second case, she was traveling with another warden and he sort of seemingly took "position" at the front of my SUV while Joni checked me out as we stood at the back of my SUV.

These are just procedural observations, definitely not criticisms.

They go about a very dangerous job approaching people. And, this was at a paid entry lake, so I suppose somewhat less dangerous since they have written down our drivers licenses. One game warden walking up on three men? That'd get your heart pumping.

Good to see they are as careful as possible. After one's bona fides are established, I find they open up to a little quick and friendly conversation, Joni does this, always asking how the fishing is going. Then, off they go.

Brad

I hope Billy Joe caught some fish that day. It would be a shame to go fishing not even get a bite and then get shot.
I wonder if he had won the fight would they had stayed and kept fishing? I pray for the Warden and his Family.
RIP Billy Joe.

most things in common with the rash of leo shootings are repeat offenders an not doing what they tell them to do.

To take another persons life is something that will haunt that officer for the rest of their life. Using deadly force is the last thing any police officer wants to do. Prayers go out to the officer and his family that he is able to continue his career in law enforcement, and that he is not persecuted by the media and the sue happy lawyers looking for an easy payday from the government.

taking the life is the last thing a NORMAL person would want to do. I have a next door neighbor that used to be a cop. He's f-in nuts. He who'd be the type that likes to show his [censored] and be aggressive. He'd be the one, if not caught early and relieved of duty, that would shoot someone or beat the [censored] out of them just because he could.

In fact, the cops were at his house in multiple cars twice at different times just this weekend. Lol.

I do agree that 99% of law inforcement officers don't want to use deadly force....I think. Lol.
