I have never fished Town Lake before from my kayak but got the opportunity to spend a few hours out there Saturday. I have never seen a lake so packed with yaks and paddle boards and with better scenery...hard to keep focused on fishing with all the bikini distractions. Ended up with the biggest sunfish I have ever caught or seen, 4 dink bass and one on what I call a blinged out Zoom fluke that went 6.75 lb on my digital. Looking forward to getting out there and fishing it again sometime.

Town lake is in Austin.
Great lake, great fish, and the Fluke is a great bait out there. What technique where you using with it? I like to punch a fluke in the summer months but always looking for new ways to fish that versatile bait.

I don't mind clarifying...it was Town Lake in Austin. 99% of the yaks weren't fishing anyway, they were playing. The lure was what I call my "bling" fluke. Modified by clipping the tail and adding a small willow leaf blade with a screw-lock, split ring and swivel for flash. Bumping and swimming it around submerged brush in 5-8 ft of water. Works great around grass to which is where I usually use it with great success.
