Out in full force. Out on fork Saturday think I saw one about every 10 minutes. If it was back in the 70's, I would have had my pellet gun with me, and would have shot them all in the head. I would get in trouble these days....

They are everywhere. I was out in the middle of the lake the other day and a snake swam right up to the boat. Windy as all get up too. i guess the snake swam across the lake and was tired. This one had a white head?

First u form habits, then they form u.

I killed another copperhead last night.

I was able to get my float tube up on plane when I saw a snake headed my way on Waco last week.

rofl, that's the truth! snakes that can kill you with a bite are the reason I don't float tube Texas' waters.

Just do not try to kiss them like the idiot in La.. Dude was showing off for friends and tried to kiss his pet (yes pet) cottonmouth on the nose. They said his face ballooned almost instantly. The snake lived in his house cageless. Other than a big medical bill he got a ticket for not having a permit.

I have fished couple of creeks all spring, with jungle strength undergrowth and root covered shorelines(primo snake haunts) and have yet to see my first snake! Make no mistake, due to the thick and lush undergrowth this year thanks to the rains, I have been EXTRA careful, but have yet to see one. It doesn't bother me one way or the other, I am not scared of em and know a dangerous one when I see one, but still, haven't seen one yet. Maybe they don't like poison oak and or ivy, as most of the undergrowth of my big bass creek is almost 100% that. Ah well, that's ok by me. I have zero reaction to either oak or ivy.

Remember, a cottonmouth swims with it's body half out of the water or on top of the water and it's head at a 45 degree angle and seldom dives completely below the water unless feeding. Hard to mistake a cottonmouth once you know what they actually look like. Water snakes will swim with all their body submerged and just the rounded head above water. Water snakes have rounded pupils. Water snakes are more aggressive than a cottonmouth and will try to take your fish off the stringer. All of them stink to high heaven.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!
