I have read a lot on here abut people catching nice hybrids on shad and flukes below the spillway. Do I need to fish them on the bottom and let the current drift them downstream? What recommendations for catching them? Also does anyone fish in the Neches River just behind the dam?

When I used fish it , I would throw right up under the waterfall , and slow roll it back.
It gets crowded down there, so good luck . Also try top water daylight and dark, in the pool below waterfall,
I am sure a lot of fish have gone over dam with all the rain we have had.
Good luck.
Pm me your results , please. Posting a positive report on the open forum about that spot will bring you lots of company.
Mosquitoes will try to carry you away when it gets dark.
