As you all know we have had quite the rise in water level. This has created a situation where we have a lot of dirty rising water that is filled with tons of cover. These factors are keeping post spawn fish shallow and even driving them shallower. as long as the water is rising or stable, not dropping, these fish should remain shallow. These fish can be difficult to catch at times and you have to use a technique which allows you to fish this cover which they are living in. In the early morning or late evening hours topwaters have been really good. The Spro popping frog and LFT popper have been the best topwater baits for me, the popper you work down the edges of cover and the frog just chunk it wherever you want. During the day the best results have been on weightless tx rigged plastics and swimbaits. The LFT Hyper stick and 4.5 inch boot tail magic shad have been working the best for me. Hope this helps y'all on your next Fork adventure.
