Caught him on a black bunny leach. Put up a great fight. I've been fly fishing the coast for 5 years and this is my first one ever. I was pretty stoked.

I've been fishing the coast one or two weeks a year for last fifteen years and I havnt caught one yet ( and I've been trying ). I had one chase a shrimp fly right up to the boat a couple of years ago and that's as close as I've gotten. Congratulations! Nice pictures also.

I really like your photos too. Nice on the flounder. Funny, a flounder was the very first fish I ever caught in salt about 25yrs ago, just a fluke because I had no idea what I was doing. Just chunked a clouser out from the bank, I think after only a couple casts. I don't go down there much but have never hooked another one.

Dang, must have been the new haircut! smile

Nice job!! I didn't know they were so elusive on fly.

Good job. I don't target them, but I catch them from time to time on flies. I've found them to be fun, but they are pretty hard on the flies. Last October I was up in a back lake full of reds and some good specks, but we were catching three or four flounder to everything else on little shrimp flies. It was crazy; they were jumping clear of the water time after time chasing shrimp. They would mangle the flies; wouldn't let go even after I got them into the kayak. I've caught some pretty big ones on Clousers.

OK, looking at the teefs on the thang, how do you grip them to get the hook out?
I think I've fished the salt 3 times in my life, so these are new to me, lol.

I use fish mouth opener, it's easier to remove the hook keeping fish mouth open.
