That's good stuff. I found it odd that he could throw a bait so far on a spinning rod

Hands down, one of the best kayak angling videos I have ever seen.
Just awesome. Gets the blood boiling.
Interesting choice of gear. I certainly wouldn't use a spinning rig for that type of job. In any case, he seems to do well with it. Pretty accurate casting and management.

I wouldn't want to use a spinning combo either but part of it might be that he is in North Dakota. I know a lot of guys up north don't use bait casters because they don't need to (the bass don't get huge and you can go smaller/lighter). I might be way off base, but that was my first thought.

I fish primarily with a spinning rod I like the fight. Only draw back is I use a medium action rod so hook sets take more effort and I can typically cast farther with my spinning rod than my bait caster. Call me crazy.... Here is a spinning rod fish lol.

Topwater was dead this weekend with the chocolate milk colored water. I didn't catch a single fish this weekend. Worst weekend ever
