so i found a 17' crestliner, on a trailer for $400. it is completely stripped out, no wood floors or anything. its just the aluminum shell. what do you guys think it would cost me to build it up with a 50-60hp motor, controls, console, flooring, carpet, seats etc. i would do all the work, build and installation myself and would source used motor and controls.
my rough guess is: motor w/controls- $600-800 flooring - $250-300 carpet - $200-300 wiring $150 lights - $100 storage -$200
rough estimate $2100 including boat cost

Sounds about right. You should check with Gary Purdy on here. I think I remember him having a good used 50hp on here he is trying to set up with a new owner.
Current Cylinder Index is 42.

Carpet and floor....Need to bump those up a lil'. Thanks, i know a guy who owns an upholstery shop so i'm hoping i could get some discount marine grade material. i probably won't go through with the deal, as i am already busy enough with projects; taking on another might just take away any slight chance of fishing time i may have. better to save up and buy a used boat for 4-5k that doesn't need any major work.
