We're headed to Palm Harbor for a week on April 30th. Haven't been down since last July and was hoping for some tips. Specifically, I would like GPS coordinates for hotspots linked to a table of best fishing times and what kind of bait, tackle, line, clothing and food to bring.

Also, I need to borrow a boat.

Well, one thing is for sure.

You don't need a boat to catch a limit of trout or reds here in the Rockport bay system.

You can use my boat, but there are some tricks to it.

1. The trailer is on life support. It is literally being held together by some rope, sticks and mud with a little duct taped thrown in.
2. The tires have metal mesh wires sticking out, I like those because it looks "tough". In case of a blowout, I don't have a spare as they are highly over-rated.
3. If I wait two more years, the stickers will appear to be current as they expired in 07.
4. The battery is very temperamental, it will always start at the dock; however, in the water it is 10% at best. Do not try to use the pull cord inside the cowling as it is being used to hold my bunk boards to my trailer.
5. If it starts leaking water again, just use the old bait bucket I have kept safe in the ice chest seat. If the shrimp and mullet are still in there, just chunk them out, I don't need them anymore.
6. The Steering is locked in place, so have a buddy at the back of the boat put a paddle in the water and use it as a rudder.
7. I have conveniently hidden treble hooks throughout the boat in case you run out, most of which you will only "find" when you are not looking for them.
8. Due to the fact I ran out of funds, the boat name was supposed to read Touching kids' hearts. It now just reads "Touching kids". No big deal, makes for a good conversation piece while begging for a tow in.

Ha! Thanks, I'll stick to my 13 year old Logic. Every year I think this is the last, it's got to break down.

Dig the boat name, though

Here's a better idea. This is what I plan to do, tell me if I'm wrong.

Trout in 3-5' in Morris and Cummings cut, outside Dagger island and around Hog Island in the AM. PM redfish in estes flats or on the Dagger Island flats.

As far as clothing goes, boxers.

Update: went out on Estes flats 1 hour before sunset on falling tide. Only fished for 40 minutes but hooked a very nice 17" trout on a new penny shrimp on a 1/16 oz head under a popping cork. Surprisingly shallow (1.8 ft).
