My honest thoughts, I initially liked the way it was done but it got boring pretty quick. It is way too long for a commercial. If I couldn't get it in about 15-30 seconds then I would normally click out of it. I personally would have rather had someone telling me the details because it could have been done quicker and just edit down the graphics.

I've been following all of your post. I like the idea and concept, but.............. Don't show hard plastic baits instead of soft plastic. People will remember the pictures over the words, and then you have confused your potential customer base. hence I've been following your post and when i saw the pics of the hard baits my intitial thought was I didn't realize you were "rebuilding" hard baits.
In addition the commercial takes too long to get the point across, hard to keep folks tuned in...You need pictures of the baits your customer will be purchasing. At the end of the day you need something to convince someone your bait will help them catch fish. We purchase baits based on the assumption we think they will catch fish not because we think they look cool and by purchasing some a young angler will get a free bag. People like to pick their charities define in detail who will recieve the free bag. If someone purchases a bag of lizards throw in a couple of sample baits In a different color to lure people back in for more purchases.
Also your style of commercial is geared towards the 25 and under crowd, which is good because they are most likely the "greener" crowd but they most of them won't care that a young angler is getting a free pack. You have to capture all audiences which is hard to do. Right now you are trying to sell people on the idea that they should sell their baits to you so they can make money, not one part of your commercial convinced me that tou were selling a product that would make money or was it a product that I had tell all my fishing buddies about.
All in all keep up the good work and best of luck. Stay at it, adapt based on input and don't get stuck in a rut just because it was the initial business plan.

I agree.....one thing I retained in a college marketing class....your message should be like a woman's dress......long enough to cover the subject.....but, short enough to keep it intresting....

Yep, wrong lures in the beginning and way to long. Something less than a minute.........loose the yuppie characters and music and replace them with folks that look like fisherman, guys in baseball caps????. Back ground music needs to be something the average fisherman would enjoy. There are so many folks out there that fish that listen to different types of music it would be hard to pick exactly what needs to be playing in the back ground. I'd probably go with something kind of from the blue grass/folk kind of sound but not full on blue grass so you don't annoy other folks. In all; get SOUTHERN with it, the guys from the south are going to be your biggest customer base. If you make them comfortable with the commercial, you're more likely get their attention........Watch some of the commercials on the outdoor networks for some ideas.......

Way too long. You mention soft plastics and show hard baits. You want the commercial short and making the viewer wanting more, so they will visit your webpage.
The way the commercial is presented, reminds me of the pop-up adds about "Your Electric company does not want you to see this". Maybe try a picture of a pile of old baits and what you turned them into.
I like the big picture of what you are trying to do.

Everyone is simply opining, so... The music, the inspirational spirit and "kiddie--90s/2000s" Sesame Street, California'esque presentation was just that, sort of kiddie. It was too long, and the hand and writing got old after 3 pages worth. I wanted to like it, but I've seen that format so many times, with that same style of music...not trying to bash it, just giving an opinion as we were asked. I was so wrapped up in the hand, that I don't even remember what the commercial was about.

Not a bad effort. I know what you were going for, but it was too repetitive. If you cut out much of the repetitive "we buy plastics" stuff, you will great cut down on how long it is, which...
It was too long. It should be 45 seconds at most, but probably around thirty.
You should also change out the hard plastics in the beginning for soft plastics to avoid confusion. You also need to work in your finished product. If you want it to be at the beginning when you change out the hard plastics, that will work, but you should show your product, packaging and logo so potential customers will recognize it. Also, I don't remember seeing a link to your website, which should also be worked in there at least once.
Lastly, one thing that I can't get past is, at the 1:56 mark, it says "no matter how much or how little much." It should be "no matter how much or how little."
Again, good effort and there are some good suggestions here.

On top of what others have said, there is a lot of reading to do. You could shorten the length of the commercial simply by saying what you now have to read. But it was well put together.

The concept of the commercial is catchy. It's different. But after you watch the hand for about 4-5 different screens you tend to lose focus and let the music annoy you. As everyone has said, shorten it up. Create some curiosity that will drive people to your website. I'm not sure you even have a website. If you don't, in today's world, it's a MUST HAVE! And don't let your third grade cousin put it together.
You have an awesome concept and you sure could be on to something. Keep one thing in mind, you won't please everyone. It's a great idea asking for opinions on here but don't get caught up in tweaking it based on each of our opinions. Change the major stuff, keep the small things that you think are important and then market the heck out of it. Good luck! I appreciate someone willing to step out there in uncharted waters and take a gamble.
