I'm not sure how much help I can be but I used to troll the points on the northwest side of 2 mile bridge with a white model A bomber and have pretty good luck. There's a sandbar that comes way out by the public boat ramp and I would just troll around to find a spot that was holding fish. I haven't fished Tawakoni in several years so good luck. I also used to troll up and down on the north side of the bridge with limited success.

Lots of folks are fishing the dam lately
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Fish the dam right next to the rocks.
