Insane action on the cuberas this week in Pedasi, Panama ! We think they invaded our spots to spawn, because their arrival coincides with the arrival of good numbers of whale sharks, which are know to feed on the spawn of cubera snappers. This week anglers got lucky, with numerous big specimens. It is worth reminding here that cubera snapper is a well deserved fish, and even more when it is caught on popper or stickbait. Strikes are not so common and even when they are hooked, the odds of bringing it boatside are not so good. There is only one way to fight a cubera: closed drag, and full pressure since the first seconds. If the fish takes the advantage, it will reach the rocks and break the line. For these reasons and because they are mean, any sizeable cubera is a real trophy that any angler can and should be proud of. Holy [censored] that's awesome. Couple of years ago I looked into going to Panama. I couldn't figure out the best way to fly there
