I have never fished this lake or a lake as young as this one. Wife and daughter wants to go fishing this weekend, I am not the crappie fisherman (Only fished for them during shallow spawn and that was several years ago) any pointers for us as where to start would be appreciated. Or mabey we would be better off going to Murval which lake would you try?

I have been catching fairly well on Murval this spring. I fish Naconiche quite a bit but haven't this spring. My buddy has been fishing Naconiche some the last few weeks and not having much luck which really surprises me cause it's a good crappie lake. Been 10 days or so since I was on Murval but was still catching them under the Dotson bridge on jigs. You can buy minnows on Murval at the marina. Only place I know to buy minnows for Naconiche is a little white convenience store in Garrison on hiway 59. Sorry, I don't remember the name of the store.

Might be a little late now. You may be on the water already.

Last weekend was rough. I caught 1 little crappie on a minnow and none on jigs. I heard that it was tough for many people that were crappie fishing.

You can find minnows @ the gas station on Wooden road and the loop in Nacogdoches or at Russell's Grocery on FM 2864 across from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church north of town.
