if you are running 1 shallow water anchor which side did you put it on and why?
i fish alone more often than not
i am a bigger guy so i was thinking left for weight distribution
if you do have it mounted on left does it ever interfere with driving? make a blind spot?
thinking right though bc cleaner install and no blind spot.

I would think about what other things go on back there that you may do alot that it may get in the way. For example, do you have an oil tank that you have to refill and you will have to work around it to add oil etc....

I've got my 12 footer on the driver side. I don't think it really matters. Works good.

If it's just you fishing, the left side makes sense. If you regularly fish with another family member or friend, the right side might interfere less with their casting/fish fighting from the back of the boat.

I put two on my 17 ft champ. Has a 115 merc... Killed the performance. Now when I come of plane, I have to run from the wake so I don't get swamped.... Getting on plane, takes forever with them dragging behind me.. Then since the champs are angled at the transom, I constantly fight tember getting between the mounts and the boat ans getting stuck.. Other than that.. They are great Imo.... I wouldn't put them on anything smaller than 18.5 running at least a 150

guys thanks for all the responses and new insight.
I am running an 18 kingfisher with a Yamaha 150.
I purchased a. 10ft. Can't wait to mount it.
I have searched these topics for months and months. not trying to clutter a topic that's been discussed is just a big financial investment so I'm wanting the most up to date information.

Raise them up some and you'll get your performance back. You may lose some inches when deploying the talons but I would give that up to make sure the boat is running correctly. JMO

Mounted correctly on a jack plate their effective depth is about one foot less than advertised.
