I still remember the early Skeeter boats in the mid 60's on Sam Rayburn. Long, low skinny hulls with 2 plastic bucket seats, front stick steering and a large igloo chest in between!

I saw my first one on Cross Lake in Shreveport back in the late 50s. It had a 20HP Johnson on it and man would it fly.
Most people then were running 5-7 HP engines on rental boats. I remember my dad saying "no fishing boat needs to go that fast."
