I remember bank fishing a rock quarry when I was a boy with my dad, some guy came up to us with a treble hook buried in his hand. we ended up taking him to some type of clinic or hospital to have it removed. it looked quite painful. Fortunately in over 28 years of fishing I have never been hooked past a barb. Take caution and teach those around you to be safe as well and it shouldn't happen.

For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all menthe testimony given in its proper time.- 1 Timothy 2:5-6

Buried a treble between my thumb and index figure last year. Used the loop line technique, first I iced it numb, took two Tylenol and a strong shot of whisky; don't know what helped buy it came out on first pull and never even got sore. Still, it is not for the faint of heart!

That is why I bend the barb's down or off my lures, if I loose a fish oh well. Probably the biggest fish ever. But I am okay with that.
