Does anybody know any good fishing spots for largemouth bass and if so can you tell me what kind of bait to use because I'm new to largemouth fishing and I've only caught them on some occasions on minnows

If you give a more specific location I'm sure somebody on here is close and could tell you some places to try.

Japan. Current world record is from there.

I have no idea where you're at, so that would be helpful. A Texas-rigged has probably caught more bass than any other rig. Worms work well. Fish them slow with a 1/8 oz bullet weight and learn to feel the bottom of wherever you're fishing. Buy a chartreuse and white spinnerbait and throw it around cover with varying retrieves until you start getting bit. This is what I did and I started using all types of other presentations one I started to understand the way bass move and feed.

You are in for a great ride. Learning to bass fish is one of the most exciting things you will ever do. Learning on your own is one of the most difficult. Join a local club as a non boater or latch on to a buddy in the club. Explain to them that you need help and would like to change partners as often as possible. Be sure to pay your way and then some so no reputation gets established on your part.

Spend your time on the water every chance you get, then when you get to go with a good fisherman you will understand what you have been missing. It is difficult to tell someone how, what and where to fish. You have to be shown. One of the best ways to learn is hire a guide on your lakes of choice and pay attention.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

Most of my learning started out at small ponds. Wherever you are there is most likely some neighborhood ponds nearby with some bass in them

Yes it would be helpful to know your location. There are a lot of guys on here that are more than willing to help a newbie find & catch fish.
