I have a bit of brand loyalty but what reel is bulletproof and has a lot of line capacity for throwing big swimbaits on 20-25 pound fluorocarbon? I throw the same Daiwa reel on every rod I own in different gear ratios and they just don't break...

Lexa 300 is supposed to be pretty good. I think I'm gonna buy a Daiwa Tatula HD to toss some swimbaits it's a 200 reel size I'm really not into tossing baits that really require a huge about of line yet

Switched from Shimano to Daiwa for all bass fishing applications several years ago. Haven't found a Daiwa for BIG swimbaits that can match the Shimano 400B. I'm all ears for anyone who has.

Fished with two of the swimbait gurus in Cali a few years back and thats the reel they both used. They are a little bulky & heavy compared to our Steez reels but when you consider you are chunking baits that weigh half a pound or more....

I throw the same Daiwa reel on every rod I own in different gear ratios and they just don't break... The problem you run into using line that size is line capacity. You can throw an 8 oz Huddleston a mile only if you have a mile of line on your reel. Know what I mean?? I bought a green Curado 300 and like it but I don't fish as much as I used to before all the Chillrenns came along.... Call me and we'll chat. I just looked and the Curado 300 and the Lexa 300 both hold 120 yds of 20# test.

Daiwa Luna 253,,,built like a tank. I have two of them and one 203. Same specs but the 203 holds a little less line. The Lunas are a 5-1 gear ratio.
I also have the Lexa 300 because it is a 6-1 gear ratio.

I had looked at the Lexa and Luna both, and they felt a little off in my hand on the rod. Been throwing on a Steez so long it's hard to get the right feel with another reel, but I can pretty much throw 75% of the line off it. I'll holler Ken A!
