I've not seen it on a Hobie, but it looks like it could be a viable option.

I have the measurements. I will lower it down tomorrow and measure the cockpit on my yak.

I built the seat that I have in my Commander, but there are many lawn type folding chairs available that can be adapted to work on a kayak. I tried one that my wife carries in the back of her car to be sure I wanted to build one myself, and it worked well. The only reason I built mine was to have a 20" tall seat back. And the folding chairs are a fraction of the price of a Jackson (or Native) chair. I'm not knocking Jackson, but if you are going to have to adapt the chair to fit the kayak anyway, why pay $200+ when you can buy a solid folding chair for $30-$50?
