Anybody know if the Red have picked up or are they still recovering from that fish kill?

The Reds don't naturally reproduce there and TPW stopped stocking them a few years back. Between the ones kept for dinner and the massive fish kills I doubt there are many left.

It was always a "put and take" fishery. Years ago the state stopped the put so now you can't take.

I'm local. Take my word for it...not worth the trip, if it's Reds you seek. Only know of 2-3 caught in the past 2 years. frown

Well we had the Reds in a local lake near me and they tore down the power plant recently but it hadn't generated in a decade. I do miss those days. PB was 38 1/2 in at 30 pounds...powerful fish

This was by accident last October. Hard to imagine they "aren't there" anymore... Bass fishing is just as bad. Stay away!
