Fished Waco yesterday before the storm rolled through. Fished several good areas extremely thoroughly without a bite. I can't figure out if they are in some kind of funk, or I'm just doing the wrong thing. Anybody catching any bass at Waco?

I will probably be out there tomorrow. I think this past year up to now it has been a tad tuff. Don't know the reason but I'll keep going. Probably headed to Amistad in a few days. On Waco the only thing I can get bit on is a 4" Senko bulk/red either weightless or with a Slider hook.

Has anyone had any real luck with bass fishing on this lake? TPWD's website lists Waco as an "excellent" lake for large mouth bass.

Thanks for the replies. Man, I sometimes fish that lake and think I'm fishing some dynamite spots. The type of spots you only dream of at some other lakes. I've fished other tough lakes before like Gibbons and Somerville, and waco reminds me of those. But at Waco it just FEELS like there should be a fish there every other cast. It's hard for me to fish elsewhere when Waco is so close though. I may make it my mission for the next year to figure it out though. It might be a long year.

We've never had a problem catching bass. Don't ask about sizes though.

The fish out there have been in a funk for 2 weeks now. We went Sunday morning for a few hours, had one 2 lber when we ran into some smaller hybrids schooling and could not resist.

Found quite a few way back in Hog Creek a few weeks ago. Not a lot of size but good numbers. That's always been my problem at Waco....numbers but no size.
