I'm brand new to Ray Roberts, but I want to start taking my wife and daughter catfishing. Where's some of the more consistent places to throw a net for shad throughout the day? The girls aren't exactly "early risers" so specific advice for the mid-late morning times is appreciated. Is there an over the counter bait that you can recommend?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've heard this before =/ I guess Ray Roberts is just a tough lake to find shad on?

Knowing what I do to my boat props up there I'm not sure I would ever throw a net into RayBob.
Least ways any net costing over $2

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

Plenty of big gizzard around Buck Creek ramp the past week or so. Mornings and evenings. But they won't be there long and you can't count on them being there from one day to the next. There really aren't any consistent spots on that lake that I have found. I usually get my bait at Lewisville this time of year.

Thanks so much for this! Where on lewisville are you going to get your bait? I'm from SW Arkansas, and I'm not familiar with the area lakes at all.
