Only run ins I've had with snakes is when I got too close to them without knowing they were there. Talk about scary when you turn your head and your face to face with a cottonmouth.

I love snakes and rarely see many...it's only people who don't like them that come across them all the time. 90% or better of what you see on the water are only harmless, non-poisonous water snakes anyway. Leave them alone and they will leave you alone just about every time. wink

I've seen lots of snakes when I'm out, never had a problem with them though. As long as they respect my space I return the favor. Always keep a look out though. Here is a pic I took from last week of a diamond back water snake I came up on.

I'm not usually freaked out by them. I due respect them and there space though. Yesterday was my first day out on my new kayak and until yesterday I hadn't thought about that.

I don't mind them as long as I know where they are. Haven't had any issues with them though, heard of a guy who had one coming towards his boat and he couldn't out run it so he started whacking it.

Need to watch out for those Cotton-Mouth Rattle-Moccasins!!! They are usually found around Chupacabra dens along the banks.

Word of advice, check the tree your lure is caught in before you try to shake it loose.... Lets just say I caught a falling snake in my kayak before eek
