I never noticed any stiffness before . I went to back off the trailer I couldn't turn the wheel. I do use the boat in saltwater but I allways wash the boat down from front to back ( brush it and wash it).Is it possible to lube it up and get it working again.

i assume it's cable steering. my neighbors was like that and i had him hold a bind on the steering wheel while i put a 2x4 on the steering arm at the motor and hit on it repeatedly with a 4lb hammer. it started moving so we removed the nuts on the ends of the cable and put oil on everything we could. we went back and forth, left and right about 4 0r 5 times and it started freeing up.

Cable/has rusted inside and though you can sometimes free it up it'll only be temporary, play it safe and put a new one in

there's an old Harley trick you can try. take the cable loose at the helm and build a funnel out of a cone drink cup and electric tape and hang the cable/cup as high as possible and fill it with light oil and let it hang overnight. the oil will settle into the cable.
