Thinking about heading over to the state park in the morning. i'll be in a 14' flatbottom boat, wind right now is forecasted 7-12mph out of the Northeast.
figured I could fish out around the point, maybe over by the pumpstation???? if it gets too windy, I guess I could probably hang out in the cove.

Any thoughts? Think there will be any sandbass in that area?

Thanks.

There will be sand bass and plenty of yellow bass. If its out of the north it will be choppy. 7-12 is not much though. just make sure you have enough battery/gas to leave if you see storms coming. 3 of us fished last Friday and yesterday and limited out. took a few hours but all in all we left with 6 gallon bags full of filets. the bigger sandbass are farther away from the dam, the yellow bass are right up in the rocks. We drifted/trolled in the 20 foot deep area and threw marabou crappie jigs to the dam and reeled in. A lot of fish bit right at the boat. Reel all the way back to the boat and you can see them chase it every now and then. Color does not matter we caught them on every color we threw at them. Good luck and be safe.

Thanks for the tip. I'll double check the weather in the am but it looks like a go.
