Lookout out fellas...what's going on?! Went fishing last week at Lynn Creek on JP! Crappie wouldn't cooperate but the gills sure did! All fish were caught using night crawlers in shallow water and on the fall! Their kinda funny when they get hooked because they swim in a circular motion(like playing teather ball) an sometimes feel as if they were ALOT bigger than what they really are lol! 
Katchin krappie...doin surgeries(filleting)...and givin hott grease baths until krunchy and golden brown is what it's all about!!!

Big ups to Banker for the half worm tip he mention another post...I used the same technique an got more hits! Most fish were FULL of eggs so I guess that means a the spawn is about to be on?!? What's their spawning patterns?? Is it somewhat like crappie...do you catch bigger fish or during that time too??

Well done  Panfish, like other flat fish do feel bigger than their size. Wait until you get into some big greenies. Pound for pound, they are more aggressive and fight harder than bass. They will usually make a run parallel to the bank and don't give up the fight easy.

Great job. I'm looking at getting my wife into fishing and was really hoping for the bluegill to turn on up here in DFW so she can finally feel a fish on the other end of her line.
She just missed the white bass spawn, but I really enjoy catching panfish, I'm sure so will she.
We went out to Lake Lewisville and fished around some slips but couldn't get anything to take a hook. Lots of strikes but nothing would commit.

Get her an ultra light rig with six pound test line,size 6 Cricket hook,with a size five shot. Buy a box of night crawlers and find a school of hungry Bluegill. It just don't get any better.

were those in the back of Lynn Creek Park? I'd like to take my kids out to have some fun fighting some bluegill. I can find them in the state park but a little later in the season.
