Sitting here bored I got to thinking about what I could come up with to make my life as a fisherman easier, or as Jig Master calls it, "Guru'n".
Instead I thought some on here might be interested in some of the things I've already thought of and was hoping that some of you would share your ideas(?)

My first one is one I've not said anything about because I wasn't sure if it would damage my boat or not and I sure didn't want to put it out there and have someone else damage their boat. But after three years of nothing happening to my boat, I figured I'd share.

We all hate the thought of trying to get the water scum off our boats. I've seen the question asked many times on here, " What's the easiest way to get it off". The majority of the answers are "a lot of elbow grease".
Well I have been using "Kaboom" for the last 3 years on my boat and it hasn't damaged my paint yet.
All I do is spray it on
Wait til it turns white (It's blue when you first spray it on).
Wipe down with a damp soft cloth...I do scrub some.
Wash off
It's that easy!
Once a year I do wax the boat afterwards
I cleaned a section of my boat this morning so I could post the pics and it took less than 10 minutes to do it, not including taking the pics.

Up close and personal. that is a reflection on the boat not scum in the after pic. and no I did not wax the boat this morning. It hasn't been waxed since the middle of last summer.




Again, I do not know if this will cause damage to your clear coat or not. So be warned. I just know it's done no damage to mine.

Next is my rod holders I made and have hanging in my garage. It puts all my rods up and out of the way. They are very easy to make and cost me nothing because I had extra wood out in my shed from other home projects. I used some I guess it's called fencing wire to hang them. and some small eyelets I had laying around. This is the second design I came up with. The first just had a grove notched out on the tops of the wood and it was a pain getting the rods on and off them without constantly hitting the ceiling. The wood used are 1X4.

Next is a problem that frustrated me to no end until I came up with a solution. How to store the second jig on a double rigged pole. That lil feller would get tangled and twisted into every pole in the boat and then some. Well, the other day it it hit me...A Rubber band!
works like a charm.
If you tie it to the back eye on the rod it might loosen the other jig, so i tie mine to the front eye to keep the other jig nice and tight. You can either loop the rubber band around the eye or through the eye if you need it tighter.

Next is our seat caddies. I bought ours at Bass Pro but they were made for something other than our seats cause they would have ended up under our seats without the extenders I installed.
I bought some 1" flat bar aluminum from Lowe's for the extenders. I didn't want them so thick I couldn't work with them but yet so thin that any pressure would deform them. I cut them 14" long.


Now the center square on the caddie is where I keep my crappie nibbles. It's a pain trying to get one at a time out of the jar so I just pour them all in the caddie. Now getting them out of the caddie was a pain so I drilled a hole in the back corner and use a rubber cork to seal it off until I need to put the nibbles away after fishing. I simply hold the nibble jar underneath the hole and scrape the nibbles into the hole. I did drill a hole thru the cork and ran a line thru and tied it off to the caddie, cause things do tend to get lost easily on a boat.



I also found out real quick like that leaving the nibbles in the caddie and tearing tail across the lake will make the biggest mess. So I cut some Plexi glass big enough to cover the square tray on the caddie and used velcro to hold it in place. Tip: on the backside of the plexi glass, make sure to put the velcro as close to the edge as you can. this acts like a hinge and will keep it from falling off when you open it. Also make it big enough to over hang the front of the caddie a bit so it's easier to flip open.

I store my rods basically the same way. But I use 4 closed hooks, and two 3/4 dowel rods

Great ideas, thanks. Especially like the jig keeper. Will use that for the spider rigs.

Another cleaner I've found very good is Awesome from Dollar General. Cheap and will clean lots of stuff well, no bleach.

I use vinegar and water to remove the water stains. Spray, rinse, wipe dry. I wax my fiberglass hull about 2-3 times a year with Speedwax...

Like TreeBass idea to store rods would work just as good and I'm sure is easier and cheaper to do.
I will have to give "Awesome" a try if I can find it. Might be a cheaper way to go.
Vinegar and water for sure is cheaper. Many folks don't mind the smell of vinegar, but vinegar, coffee, and lacquer thinner are my Kryptonite. Makes me ill to smell any of those three. But for those that don't mind the smell, that would be the way to go.
