We are largemouth bass fisherman but I Wana test out these downriggers. I know canyon lake can be tricky few times I've fished it. Obviously to large to learn it in a few trys. Any info on anything appreciated. prob go out sundy. Post rain so I know that for a fact will make things even more difficult. I may even try catfish. Buddy needs to have some fun. Wife finally let him out of the cage. Lol we were gonna try calaveras but I didn't realize they moved further away and canyon lake is much closer.......

Lots and lots of standing timber in most areas. The sharp topography can make it a real challenge to keep the cannon ball out of the trees.
