I like it. Try experimenting with rabbit fur, artic fox, 45 degree bend hooks, different weights, etc. All that matters is will it catch fish and this looks like a good start to me.

Thanks for sharing.

Hey thanks for the advice, yeah I've seen about every crawfish fly possible, I wanted to tie and develope something different that resembled a crawfish and would swim well. I'm going to throw it this weekend and see how it preform a hopefully was good as it looks. It is a difficult one to tie that's for sure.

You know I have a real good idea for that pattern if you could tie some foam on to the claw just a little bit to make them float up like a crawfish in defense mode add a little extra lead wire or whatever you have to do to the tail to get it to fall that way and as you Strip it it should fall at a backwards angle like a retreating crawfish and land with the claws sticking up I am quite sure a bass could not stand that. If it works you need to send me some for the advice ;-)

You know it kind of sounds like I described the flying lure of Flyfishing maybe flying craw fly......? Anyway if it works like I see it working it would do damage to bass with heavy crawdad populations.

The claws actually have small pieces of foam under them which makes it float up exactly like you were saying, I'm just about to switch up the tail to make it twitch back when stripped so it will have some crazy movement. I'll be testing them out this afternoon
