I have never been there before either but will go Saturday or Sunday depending on the weather. It has to be better than Lewisville.

There is a tournament there Saturday put on by the Athens Bass Club.
In-part to help benefit local HS fishing and in-part to sponsor "kids fishing".
Should be a good tournament; $50 individual + $10 BB.
Only a few late bloomers left on the beds,,,,lake is in post pawn conditions.
Expect the parking lots to be crowded & every fishing spot with boats on them

Where can you run and not run on the lake.

Lake is clear to run just watch out on a couple of points with stumps.They do not run out into lake very far.

Just stay wide of the major points and you can go full speed anywhere.
it only takes 3 minutes to run from one end to the other

It's gonna be packed.

There is a charity tournament on Fork, one on Palestine plus other tournaments in addition to the Athens one,,,,, so maybe it won't be too bad but just enough to make the Kids's tournament a success.
remember to bring donations for the HS fishing teams.

Judging by the parking lot on Wed. They are going to be packed in there like chord wood

With all this rain it should be nice and clear too

dont go to athens there is no fish in that lake, water is murky and it is always rough. you would be lucky to get a couple of bites, besides that all the houses on that lake are really crummy shacks!!

I fished it today. Seen lots and lots of fish still on beds. I caught them t rig and weightless also a few n drop shot.

Wednesday there were a lot of boats
Today not so much
Slot fish are biting good
Tournament fish are hard to find with the slots biting good
5am is sign up time for the Athens Open on Saturday
