I know there are a lot of cheap "HD" video cameras out there. What basic water proof one do you recommend? I have no need for an expensive GoPro and the likes, just a simple one. Thanks!

Under $50 option--In this price range, you will get something serviceable of low quality that might fail/break

Emerson EVC355WH HD $35--got this for my 11yo to shoot video in the pool, etc. It feels cheap and the video quality is just fine for her.
Gear Pro HD Sports Action Camcorder $40 might be a little better

Under $100--you can get some quality, very basic waterproof video cameras for just under $100
Contour Roam2 is right at $90

Just over $100
Sony HDR AS15 is a really nice option right at $130

Most reviews will say to spend the $129.99 and get the base GoPro Hero - it's considered much better than the budget cameras for a little more. I also wanted something inexpensive to try it and found an Epic HD on clearance at Academy for $29.99! It was the only one they had in the Frisco store. Regular price was $179.99. It is ok and works fine, although, I wouldn't be that happy if I spent the $179.99 on it. I'll cut my teeth on it and eventually upgrade if I use it.

I think I saw a(your) post the other day about that camera which is all I am wanting, something very basic. I don't need anything fancy to make awesome videos with, just to show my family and friends how it works fishing from a kayak. And I am trying to stay under $100 for now.
